Hello all,

I just recently found this site and thought I'd check it out. Currently, I own 3 betta fish- Finneus, Big Red, and Levi. Fins and Levi are both Piebald Vein Tail Bettas and Big Red is a solid red Vein Tail. Here's a few pictures of them :)

A little about my fish:

Fins is a Red/White piebald betta and lives in a 2.5 gal tank with a filter and a heater. He used to have a beautiful 1/2 red and 1/2 white/clear tail about a year ago. He decided to play Russian roulette with the filter and allowed it to get sucked up in the filter. I decided the filter had a tad too much pull, so got a smaller one which Fins got along really well with for about 5 months. His tail grew back, though all red with just a lining of white at the tip. He decided to do the same thing with that second filter and let his tail get messed up again. I bought another filter with even less suction (which is working great) and he is starting to grow his tail back...but very slowly. He looks kind of funny right now lol. His favorite food is live brine shrimp. His tank mates are a Black/Green Apple Snail and several ghost shrimp. There were 2 snails in there which he had been living with for months, but one died this morning and was eaten. I don't know if it was by him or the shrimp. He has natural gravel and a bunch of live plants in his tank, as well as the decorations I have. http://i976.photobucket.com/albums/ae241/Gizaroo2/Myfish18.jpg (before he lost his tail. I have other pics) and http://i976.photobucket.com/albums/ae241/Gizaroo2/IMG_0169.jpg

Big Red as of today is also in a 2.5 gal tank. He will be getting a new filter and possibly a heater tomorrow. His tank is also now filled with natural gravel and live plants. Already he seems to love it. He was in an Aqueon 1 gal aquarium with a filter, which was working great for him. He has had a growth spurt since I first got him and has doubled in size. I didn't have to, but I decided to upgrade his tank as he seemed a little cramped in the 1 gal. His tankmates are a Black/Green Apple Snail and a Yellow Apple Snail. He had a ghost shrimp too, but decided it was lunch instead. http://i976.photobucket.com/albums/ae241/Gizaroo2/IMG_0071.jpg and http://i976.photobucket.com/albums/ae241/Gizaroo2/IMG_0072-1.jpg and http://i976.photobucket.com/albums/ae241/Gizaroo2/IMG_0160.jpg

Levi is my most recent addition. He is a tiny dark blue/white piebald vein tail. He lives in an Aqueon 1 gal aquarium with a tank and filter. I tried a snail and a ghost shrimp at different times with him and he killed both. He's a fiesty little guy and sadly chooses to have no tank mates. http://i976.photobucket.com/albums/ae241/Gizaroo2/IMG_0061.jpg (before moved to his new 1 gal filtered tank) http://i976.photobucket.com/albums/ae241/Gizaroo2/IMG_0139-1.jpg http://i976.photobucket.com/albums/ae241/Gizaroo2/IMG_0145-1.jpg and http://i976.photobucket.com/albums/ae241/Gizaroo2/IMG_0061.jpg

A little about me- I have had fish of some sort all my life and love keeping them! I became hooked on betta fish (and all fish) after I got my first one, Oscar many years ago. He lived for 4 years. I hope to actually be able to set up a nice aquarium one day and have all sorts of community fish. They are so relaxing.

I think I wrote a bit much...Sorry. Have a good one!

Your fish are lovely, but I'm more intruiged by your dog, Zoey; a JRT x R&W setter?!! How did that happen?! (I mean, I know how it happened, technically!) What an odd cross! Could you post a pic? I'd love to see what she looks like; my imagination has failed me on that one!

Haha, here ya go! My dad went to look at a truck and came back with a puppy instead...the family's dogs had bred accidentally and they were trying to find homes for the pups. The father was the Jack Russell, and the mom was the Red and White Irish Setter. Zoey turned out black and white lol. We've had her since October 31st of last year. She was 8 1/2 weeks old. She just turned a year old earlier this month :)

I have plenty more where this came from!

Ah! Sort of a Jack Russell with a setter head!

Thank you; she's a cutie ;)

Pretty much! haha. She got the Setter personality and the Russell energy and size (26 lbs). You have never seen a dog more built to run lol. Also, she got the best of both breeds in terms of hunting skills....she chases everything that moves.

You have never seen a dog more built to run lol.

Well, I'd disagree there; I've got a greyhound ;)

She looks a grand wee dog though :D

I should have added besides a greyhound...She could come close to outrunning one i bet though lol. She is quite fast, and runs laps around the yard (we have about an acre of cleared land that our house sits on that all 3 dogs get to tear around in) all day long. She rarely stops running hehe :)

My previous neighbors used to have greyhounds. They're awesome :)
