oooo impressive tanks! 16 aye? all big tanks?? what kind of fishies?

welcome to the forum!!!

hi and a very warm welcome, nice show tank  ,
i would also like to know what other fish you have. :hi:

too many to list them all but some of the favorite ones are uarus, severums and 9 oscars, a giant gourami at 14 inches in size. a FW lion fish, block head cichlid species tank, 3 flowerhorns of which two have formed a pair (watch this space i have fertilized eggs today) an unusal form of knife fish in dlue and red. kribs species tank and a bassic community tank with the usual tetras and gouramis etc. oh and ive just started breeding mozambique tilapia, endlers and a blue variant of the lamo eyes.

ok will see what i can find.

i breed oscars to pay for everything and while ive invested 2 years in to it so far its going well. here are a few of them last year

this is two of my flowerhorns that id hoped to pair up but it didnt work out they just kept fighting, they are a very aggressive fish as are most hybrids and its a real black art , to keep and breed them, they must be kept alone most of the time. note the eggs at the back of the tank. the male never fertilised them

hope that satisfies your thirst for pics (we all love a picture on a forum amongst all the words right?)

Hey there FBF, I was wondering what you feed your flower horn? J/W
BTW you have awsome looking tanks... you have 16 tanks... wow I thought I had a lot...
I have all together... 10 tanks... I'm not a breeder, just love the hobbie.

How much does breeding oscars pay? It seems like it has gotten you a long way. By the way, I MUST ASK, how was that show tank made????

That, sir, is one sexy tank. I am extremely jealous of your gourami as well... oh if only *dreams of her massive tanks that are to come*

cleaning isnt so bad. i dont keep plants in any tanks other than fro breeding livebearers, so i can keep the lights off all the time, this coupled with weekly water changes and low nitrates means i dont see any algea really, except for the show tank that is too nice to sit in the dark. as my water amounts grew i devised a way to carry out and treat water changes and now i fill the bath and then pump the water to the fsh room and the other tanks in the house. normally about 3 bath fulls per week!!

i feed the flowerhorns mainly a good pellet i never power feed (i dont agree that its worthwhile) im keen that all my fish are not feed 2 days a week and when i go away i will happily leave the fish un fed for 2 weeks without casualty i sell the oscars at a £1 each to a large chain in the UK but with only two pairs its not loads but saying that oscars dont fly out of the shops like neons. livebearers actually earn more. and if i could crack breeding neons i could probably do this for a living

oh and amazon tank wasnt made per say its a compnay cast item they atually went to south america found a good tree in a bank and took a cast. these have been around for over ten years but they are so expensive you rarely see them in tanks anywhere. (i got it so cheap that if i told you guys that tank with the background cost me less than £100 :hey: you'd hate me for it)
