Ok, so I decided to pick up another guppy today, and replace the gorgeous orange one who met his early demise in the quarantine tank. Thankfully it was just the quar. tank. So, I went to the LFS which normally carried healthy fish, and had an OK rep. Well, they had one guppy. Well, two, if you count the dead one at the top of the tank. I felt so bad that I bought him, aparantly he was 'on sale' because no one wanted him. He's a pretty guy, irridescant blue and a black and white speckled tail that is red and orange. Very nervous, I just released him into the empty quar tank. I have no idea if he will make it or not, but he's so pretty it would be a shame to waste him. I decided to call him Dusk, because it is dusk here when I got him.

Just thought I'd share my little story.

Good luck- and remember his mate may not have died of anything catching. Besides, you've got him quarantined, so if he does die noone is worse off than if he'd died in the shop (apart from the small cost of a guppy to you). He is certainly better off with you than staying in that tank, and if he's ok you'll feel special about him, having saved him from that tank. :)
