New Gsp And Store Salinity Question

Just got a GSP for my tank. At the mo, im adjusting the salinity by 1.002 each week, aiming for aroun 1.008 (until my puffer gets bigger). At the store, it was in .005. Will it be okay for him to go from .005 to .002?

why drop the salinity why not bring yours up to 0.05

That'll kill all the bacteria, can only raise it by .002 each week. Having said that, ive rraised it to 1.004, so not too much of a drop happening for him
