Hi guys, My current Tetra Hydroclear GC40 has given up the ghost and I need to buy a new Gravel Siphon. I have seen a Rena Telescopic version here :http://www.charterhouse-aquatics.co.uk/catalog/rena-telescopic-vacuum-cleaner-p-1688.html Can anyone advise if it is any good or recommend me some others?

Many thanks

Gav

Thanks for the reply. It does look and sound what I need but before spending the dosh I just wondered if anyone else had one.

if ur using sand i find a hose cut to the right length a lot better and cheaper! for my two tanks i have an assortment of different lengths. i even have one that connects from my electric shower to refill after water changes. infact its filling up my 500litre now. beats lugging buckets around!!!!

Thanks for the reply Kev.

I have gravel so like the idea of being able to swirl it in the vac to get all the crud out.

i really find watching gravel being cleaned very relaxing...! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SC6BhvjUWts&feature=related

I didn't have this particular one but I have had telescopic models in the past.I found that fine particals of grit got between the sections causing them to jam in one position. I am using a fluval one at the moment but the tube is far to wide and doesn't create enough suck.

I have seen a 24" version of the one in this link for £11 in my LFS which I will be getting GRAVEL VAC LINK

Thanks for your reply Dorsey. Am still not sure on which one yet!! lol

Best to get it right. I have a drawer full of failed choices, they may not be a dear item individually but once you have bought 3-4 the waste (cost) soon mounts up!
