New Fry!

My balloon Molly threw out a whole new batch of fry this afternoon.... Clearly didn't wanna wait till it was dark haha.
None of them are her colour though. There's a mix of black white, grey and patchy.... But she's orangish! Very odd.

My orange molly gave birth to black and white fry too! I got her from the pet store already pregnant though, so who knows who she mated with!

How fat does a balloon Molly get when they're pregnant? LOL that is something I would like to see!

Shed only just started in the pic.. so roughly that big, but Tbf she's quite a small fish.

Incidentally my clown poach has just, after many months discovered my apple snails! His eyes lit up untill he realised they were too big to eat. Haha. Now he sits ontop of them.... I guess hoping he finds a way to eat it.

And another new batch of fry.... These aren't so good though, most of them came out dead and half formed, the other half with their organs on the outside. I get this a lot with balloon mollies for some reason. This was her first batch though.... Never mind, the ones that were almost formed had pretty markings too.... Gutted.

Clown loaches have got cool personalitys, and this is the funniest fish story ive heard in a while.

He's still at it, he sometimes flicks them upside down, but can't open that weird flap they have. You can see him getting angry. I seem to have decent luck keeping unlikely combos together, loaches and snails, Hell for two years I had platy, gold fish and ghost shrimp in one tank. I even had fry grow up in it! Eventually the gold fish found out that shrimp are tasty so I gave them away.

I had some bad luck too though, I remember once I had a few platy fry in a tank with a few adults, so I fed them some live brine shrimp... In the time it took the platy to eat them they bullied my fresh fry to death!! Kept crashing into them over and over.... I must be the only person to have fish killed by brine shrimp.....

Some good news! I have two live fry out of that batch!! One looks very healthy so far, orange with a big black spot on one side, the other though is very very small, smaller than some guppy fry. Long term I have doubts Hell grow up.
