New Fry Tank

Hi,

I have just set up my fry tank and was wondering what temp to set the heater to, i guess i set it to 26 degrees which would be the same as my main tank. Will this be ok for the fry or do they need a higher/lower temp than what my main tank is?

Ok thanks alot. I've just got my tank setup ready as i have 3 female guppies and 1 male and 2 of the females are getting quite big and have both got large gravid spots. Will it be quite soon at this stage for them giving birth?

It varies but within a few days to a week but its not an exact science -they normally give birth between 28 to 42 days if i remember right.

some fish keep their gravid spot's all the time, and if u look close you can sometime see eye's in the spot, and this is a good sign that their over 2 weeks old and only have 2 weeks to go.

The gasteration period is 28 days for guppies at 26, but the cooler the longer this time gets.

You'll right in thinking to keep it at the same temp, this makes moving the fish eaiser as you dont have to adjust the temp.
