As some of you may know i recently lost a fish. :-( I have done some reasearch in my book and have come up with these choices as a replacement

Bumble bee gobie

a corey or 2

hypancistras zebra, scientific naame didn't say common

aa few cong tetra's

a puffer, if i can find 1

or a purple cichlid

parez tatra's

I chose these because i have everything needed for them and the ones that get a bit bigger I.E purple cichlid i am giving away my bala's in 2 months MAX so ill get them small all but the tatra's can be on there own wich makes it good for me once again i can provide anything for these fish. If you have any suggestions on 1 of these fish or wish to add a fish all help appreciated and thank you in advance :D :D

1. What's a purple cichlid?, There are hundreds of different types of cichlids, and as far as I know, none are called purple cichlids.
2. There are many species of puffers available, with the majority being brackish ;)
3. Most BB gobies are brackish and the FW ones are difficult to find.

How large is the tank? I think your best choice for a new fish would be a few cories :)

HTH :D

yep, thats what i thought,Purple Cichlids are more commonly known as Kribensis or Kribs.
you should be able to put a pair in a 20 gallon nicely
EDIT:although i recomend you take the bala sharks as they will get too big for the tank

Ok,
  • Bumble-bee goby- available fish are nearly always the brackish variety. Steer clear unless you are 100% certain that you have found the freshwater variety
  • A cory or 2 - That's AT LEAST two. Corys are gregarious fish
  • Hypancistras zebra - If you can find one of these in Australia, it's likely to cost you over a thousand dollars.
  • A few congo tetras - Maybe not a nippy species like congos, but tetras would be ideal as long as you have AT LEAST three.
  • A puffer - Absolutely not. Puffers are not community fish.
  • Purple cichlid - Your tank is too small for Kribs.
  • Parez tetras - see above

i went 2 the m lfs they sell the most beautiful kribs and coreys ive ever seen so in 2 months im sayin bye bye to my balas and hello to 3 cories and 1 beautiful krib gal shes incredibly beutiful the watever it was is it really that expensive wow
