Hi guys,
now my tank is fuly cycled i got some fish yesterday.. started off with 2x angel fish, 6xrummy nose tetras and 1xbristlenose pleco..

one of the angel fish (platinum one), swims about a bit and eats his food fine.. although is a little shy.. the other wont come out of hiding and doesn't seem to want to eat.. it just sits behind a terracota pot thingy and doesn't do anything..

any ideas? or is it just getting used to its new tank? the water parameters are all good and i got the fish from my LFS..

my water temperature is 28C, is that too hot?

also how much should i be feeding this number of fish.. i've got flake, frozen red blood worm, and some improve it frozen food stuff that the show recommended..

thanks for the help so far!

What size of tank you have? Well u can feed them everyday but the red blood worms only twice per week.

hi,
its a 55 uk gallon.. the fish don't come to the surface to eat, they wait till the food comes down in the water stream from my filter and if the angels are hiding they don't see it.. i guess they'll sniff it out when they are hungry?

also i put an algea wafer thingy in the tank for the pleco.. but as far as i know he hasn't touched it.. he's only a tiny baby though... he seems quite happy skooting around though..

Probably ur fisha bit of time to get suitable to ur tank. LOL good luck.

is your filter current quite strong because when i first got my angels i had a really strong filter current and my angels did what u said ur angels are doing of course i downgraded my filter size

hi,
i have a rena filstar xp3 filter.. with a power jet nozzle on it.. i used to use a spray bar but it messed up the plants too much..

my tank looks like its supposed to be filled right up to the top of the visible glass, but that puts the outlet under water.. is that normal? i guess if i do that i'll need an air pump or something to get some oxygenation going as the outlet wont break the surface anymore?

thanks for the help so far..

Hi chris, if the outlet is under the water it should be fine as long as there is surface movement of the water ( it doesn't have to be bubbles) the O2 diffuses through the surface face of the water, if your temp is at 28c then it probably is best to get an airstone as the O2 circulation will derease in the hotter water :good:
