Hey I own a very helthy 55 g. tank inhabiting a pacu, 3 comets, 2 koi, two tinfoil barbs, some tiny cichlids.

My question is I have added five silver side shinners from my local pond. Should the wild fish get along with the othee ones??? If not I'm sure the Pacu can take care of this!!!

1) Pacu's can grow to be over 30 inches long...that 55G will eventually be much too small for it
2) Comets are coldwater fish and should not be kept with tropicals for several reasons
3) Koi grow to be 2 to 3 feet long, and are coldwater fish. They will outgrow your tank, and should be kept in an ornamental pond
4) Tinfoil barbs grow to be 14 inches...and are better kept in schools...something you really cannot do in a 55 gal tank
5) The smaller cichlids may eventually become lunch for the larger fish, and most require very clean water conditions...something that a high metabolism fish like a comet can ruin quite quickly.
6) Putting wild fish in your tank runs the risk of infecting your fish with parasites and disease. Not to mention they may not do well in the warm tropical temps of your tank, could possibly become food for your current fish, and it may be illegal to remove them from the wild.
