Hehe... Today I got some new fish and more :D! I now am the proud owner of a 38 gallon tank :kana:! I have a whole new setup, courtesy of my mom! I've been having a really hard time lately, and she knew it would cheer me up! I also am the very proud owner of a frontosa, pictus, and Acei Cichlid(I think, can't remember exactly, I'll find out definitely by tommorow)! I also have some new plants! Don't worry, I know about cycling. I've been doing it for a while(I just don't want any negative replies while I'm having a good time :*)). I'll try to post some pictures when it is set up! Just wanted to share, I'm "bouncing off the walls" from excitement :p!

I know you don't want negative replies but a grown frontosa requires a minimum of 120 gallons :S

Hi and congrats on trying to set up your new tank :)
But research is important before buying fish.
Pictus cats are predetory to smaller fish, should be schools of a minimum of three(more active and happy that way) and there fore should have a bigger tank.
Frontosa get close to a foot long, need to be in schools or atleast 6 and should, as said before, have a tank of atleast 120 gallons. They come from Lake Tanganyika Africa which have different requirments to the...
Pseudotropheus Acei, who are okay in a tank that size, but need more Acei to school with and have different water requirments to the Frontosa anyway.

Sorry if this was a negetive reply, just trying to help you have a happy succsesful tank.
Good Luck :)

Way toooooooo small of a tank! That frontosa is going to be squished! My boss is breeding frontosas in his basement. He has them in a 200g. He has at least 10 in there....He had to move some of the older ones into a 150g because they were chasing the little baby frontosas. He says he sells them for 125$!!!!!!!!!!I am going to have a frontosa after my oscars....because they are cool fish!!

Right now the frontosa is only 1" long, so I will be building him a nice big tank in the near future. Sadly the pictus died, and so did the acei :byebye:... The water stats were fine and everything. Right now I'm hoping the frontosa will be ok. It's really sad :/... I know I'm going to get it from some of you, but they're the only other cichlids I've tried besides severums. Any ideas on what happened? Thanks.
