Okay Invertibrates,

I want to know which Invertibrates are cheapest and best kept for tropical fish tanks?

I saw my mate has a marine tank and had this shrimp that had a white and red body with long like wiskers

also are marine fish alright in tropical fish tanks/water etc? such as star fish?

Marine animals will not survive in a FW set up. What size tank do you have and what other inhabitants does it have?

Shrimp in general need extremely god quality water so a mature, well filtered tank, ideally understocked tank is a must. Different shrimp have different requirements. Cherry shrimp or amano shrimp are probably the easiest to get (though I still had to drive 3 hours to a fish shop that had them, then 3 hours back again!). Shrimp are not good for tanks with larger fish as they will most likely be eaten. Shrimp need to be kept in groups.

Apple snails and Ramshorn snails are a good alternative. You might want to take a look through the invert section.

cool my tank size is 3 foot long

i have guppy, betta, platy, bala shark, red tail shark, neon tetras, black tailed tetras i think they called, i have a organe finned fish thats like the red tail shark. In total i have 22 fish with 23 new baby fry! with plenty of swimming space with a few plants and a hide structure and a driftwood. I also had a louch, last time i saw it it hid in the gravel, after that I never saw it again so I presume its dead?

Yeah i was thinkinf of getting a shrimp or even a red crab or lobster?

what are Freshwater Clam?

and what benefits and disadvantages of these Invertibrates including the snails??

PS: found it its called the Scarlet Skunk Cleaner Shrimp, would that be okay in a tropical tank?

well i'm hoping to sell some soon, i would like some advice on the fish i mentioned in my last post and those questions

those arnt fish.
crabs and lobsters are generaly saltwater. other than some crabs but they need to be able to come out of the water and on land so they need 1-2" of water max.

freshwater clams dont move and feed by filtering water. they will eat small fish that go into there shells. but they just sink themselfs into the substrate and you will never see them again.

and i would advise you not to add anything to that tank until you get rid of some fish otherwise you will not be able to keep shrimp or anything that feeds on leftover food because there wont be any and they will die.

lol thats apoint, thanks for that stuff dude, so are marine shrimps and stuff safe in tropical water?

not freshwater. saltwater and freshwater cant be mixed. its common sence.

your way overstocked. the bala shark will get 2ft +.

Bala Shark at 2ft + thats one of the funniest things i ever heard, that be one hell of a mutant Bala Shark :hyper:

Edit: the post been edited, Bala Shark to 1-foot

No. No marine (Saltwater fish) will survive in fresh water (and vice versa). You can for example get some crabs that live in salt water and some that live in fresh water but none that can live in both.

You kept refusing that SW fish carn't survive in FW, and kept asking the same question

Anyways, if you want SW fish that much, setup a SW tank :good:
