Hi,

I have recently got a 23l Fluval Edge up and running. It's currently running well with 1 x Male Betta and 3 x Panda Corydoras.
I am looking to add a smallish shoal (5/6 fish) to the tank and am looking for suitable suggestions.

Many thanks.

Definitely no safe room for any new species, 23l is tiny volume of water that can easily turn toxic, esepcially when the setup is immature.

You would be pushing the occupants' luck by adding another 3 Panda Corydoras, which gives these social catfish what is considered a minimum size group. Pandas are reknowned for not tolerating anything less than good quality water, more than the average Corydoras species (and even they are known to keel over in new setups).

A Betta and six Pandas would be better off in at least a 60l tank.

If you are keeping the 23l, you would be better off returning or rehoming the catfish.
