New Fish Eating Probs

I have just bought a third betta for my tank. The first two we bought from the same pet shop and were given pelletts with them. They took to the food right away.

We bought Squirt (the third one) from a different pet sho and have nowhad him for 2 days.

We are feeding him pelletts the same as the other 2, but he is not taking to them. It says on the packet it may take up to 5 days for them to get used to new food, but can they go 5 days without eating? Could it be that the pet shop were not feeding him pellets and something else and that is why he wont take to them?
What should I do?

Bettas like to go on hunger strikes if their enviroment changes. Feed some live or frozen bloodworms. NO betta can resist those.
