If the shark and gouramis weren't in there, I'd say you're just about ok for a 10g. It does sound overstocked to me.

Just cos the shark 'seems' happy, it's like saying a better is ok in a 1/2g but you know in your heart it would much prefer a 3, 5, 10g etc. a tank can't really be too big but it can be too small and for a shark, unless he's mentally retarded is going to be much happier in a bigger tank. They are crazy fish and the bigger it gets the more you'll see this. Don't take any chances - maybe even if he had a 10g to himself that would at least be something for now?

The shark will get waaaaay too big and will eat most of the fish as already said. Platies can get to 3/4 inches and gouramis need to be in a 1 male to 2 females ratio, the guppies should be more like 1 male to 3 females.

I cant get a tank till i move as my mum wont let me get a bigger tank, that could be next month or 8 monthes down the line i just dont no,

they are ok for now, if they start getting stressed or fighting i will rehome but till then they will be ok
