New Filter

im new to the hobby and got my tank today with heater and filter( all second hand)

i want to get a new filter as the one ive got is old and tatty (cracked)
but my problem is i dont know whats good or bad filters.
so can anyone find me a internal one on ebay and fairly cheapish

or the name of it will do ill abay it myself

Other than that, many recommend Fluval filters.

How big is your tank?

104 L (80 cm x 40 x 40) not completely full tho.... just over 3 quaters full

I would go for an external at that size mate.

mmmm intresting.... the guy i bought it off said the one with it is fine and hes kept fish for years so he says.... never seen them tho

but it looks poo really old, sprinkler tube gone brown n cant get it off.

so really want a new one

fluval 305 would be a goodun; which is an external!

but there are many others

Yeah, they are fine - But if you get an external you know 100% it will do the job if you know what i mean?

just looked at the fluval 3 plus internal.... says it can manage upto 130L.

say if ive only got 95 - 100 L of water that should be fine right?

If it says it can handle it, I don't see why not.

mmmm i dunno what to do.... this is my first ever set up obviously want to get it right first time... and most of all the water right befor i even think of adding any fish.

Make sure you cycle the tank
