New Filter

I have bought a brand new filter (fluval plus 1 internal) so what do i do cos i know that adding a new filter will now have all the bacteria and my nitrate and nitrite levels will start bounce up and down and i dont want my fish to stress out to much. ithought about cutting some of the old filter mess up and adding it 2 the new for 2-3 weeks.

Anymore suggestion

get as much lof your old filter stuff and cram it in with the new stuff, and run if for a while, after that you can just remove the old out, because the bactria breeds after a few hours,
