Allow me to introduce you to "nigel" the f8 puffer...
DSC00114.jpg

He is very camera shy so it was hard to get a good photo + it was taken on my phone using a 1.3 megapixel camera so sorry for the shoddy quality ;).
He has been eating well and looks very happy :D.
There is a short video of him eating a cockle here (Taken on my phone again so not great quality).

He is on his own as it is only a 15g, but there is some molly fry in a floating fry tank in there aswell as the tank will be brackish soon so it will be better for them. They will go into a proper brackish tank (probably) when they are too big and my parents find somewhere to put the tank.

I always have a look at those in LFS I love their markings and eyes :) I had 4 pygmy puffers in my community was told they would be ok but had to rehouse them  as they turned out to be the TALIBAN GANG in disguise :grr: also never knew they had to have snails so they could grind their teeth down

Yup totally I learnt the hard way  Anyway still love to go look at them everytime I go. Sure Nige will be very happy :good:

Very nice Rob, I'll get mine in a few months.

Have you thought about bumble bee gobies, 5 should be ok with the puffer, just put in lots of little hidey holes.

Also on dwarf puffers, it doesn't seem they are that effected by over growing teeth, so snails aren't necessary.

Yes, F8's need a 'hard diet'. Though I'm not sure which you aimed this at, F8's or DP's. Dwarf puffers don't seem effected by lack of 'hard diet' IME and from what I've read.

Indeed, 5-6 bumble bee gobies or 2 knight gobies. One or the other. Provide quite a few hiding places and it should be fine.

i used to have my to f8s with 4 bbgs in a 20 gallon heavily decored with dead coral.they got along good
