Hey all,

I've loved the looks of the Fluval Edge since it came out, and since it was on sale last night, I picked one up. I started cycling it last night, so I have a few weeks to decide on my stock.

I'm looking for suggestions to stock it.

I am aware of the extreme limitations that come with this tank (size, aeration, etc..), but am willing to work within them.

I love corydoras, and am interesting in hearing everyone's thought on put a few of them in a edge? I figure I would leave 5-10mm of air between the glass if they wanted to grab a gulp of air.

If anyone here has an edge setup, I like to hear some good species to stock it.

Thanks!

id say something like 6neon tetra and a few cherry shrimp would look nice in a tank of that size :)

:hi:

+1, in that im not sure Corys would work in what i think is a 23ltr tank right?

They like to have a fair few friends, 6 minimum really, and that's a fair bit of fish for a 23ltr.

Im about to stock a 72ltr with 6-8 corys and some shrimp, and thats close to the edge.

Maybe some other smaller shoaling fish?

Im really thinking about getting one (I was thinking of getting a "cube" but the edges seem a better option)

My idea is 5 neons, 3 cherry shrimp and possibly a betta (is that the correct name for a Siamese fighting fish?) if people think thats a good idea?

Also how much did you pay if it was on sale, Ive seen them for £99 but online for £79

I payed $119 CAD. They are usually 159, or 179 in come places.

I've toyed with the idea of a betta in my Edge before, but, they'll need/want that little bit of air on the top similar to the Corys.

Other than that, I think a single male betta would do well in a tank this size. Me and my wife usually kept our bettas in no less than 10 gallons, but I think an edge would be suitable.

My son has an Edge, and he's got three male Endler's and a couple of ghost shrimp. It's too small for even pygmy cories, IMO.

Half a dozen of any of these species would be ok; any of the microrasboras, neon or green neon tetras,

3 or 4 Endler's or guppies (but males only; there's not enough room in there to be having fry as well),

or one SFF (I can't see that even a betta, which are not the brightest of fish, can fail to find the air space)

or a trio (1m 2f) of sparkling gourami or splashing tetra or badis

plus some shrimp.
