However, the LFS advice is nonsense IMO!!! |The "feelers" should be the same in male and females - they are modified fins. Probably the one without has had them nipped at by another fish in the dealers tanks /in transit/ etc. They can grow back though - you might want to watch the water quality incase he gets a skin infection until they start looking better.
Female dwarves are typically a pale colour, silvery-pinky-cream, with either very faint or no real markings. They are totally different in colouration from males, and some people have probs finding any for sale as they are so much plainer than the males some LFS don't stock them as they don't sell that well.
I think what you have are two male dwarves, one regular coloured and the bottom one a neon blue dwarf - is difficult in a photo, but I assume the not-orange parts of the second fish are a shiny metallic blue?
