New Cory Fry Tank On The Way

Oh, the laser babies and the eggs are really orange. I've got a broze for sure then

I really hope I've got more than one gold laser female out of my bunch of 6 to try to spawn them one day.

I set up the tank last night. Now all it needs to do is process that ammonia fast and grow the pieces of plants I put.

I think I am gonna cry. 3 out of the 5 baby corys have mysteriously disappeared from the breeder box. No dead bodies, no nothing. The box is tiny so I can't have missed them. Theonly explanation I have is the clown loaches. I saw several times the whole bunch of them poking at the bottom of the box and even their barbels were going through the wholes. Yesterday was a non-food day for the whole tank but I think they got their share I feel like throwing these clowns out the window. Between eating plants and baby corys I just have enough of them.

I cleaned the box, only one albino baby there. I covered the whole bottom with sand, hopefully the clowns can't suck out the last one this way until my other tank is cycled.

Oh, that's so sad!I'm sure they'll spawn again, and now you have a flashy new tank, you should do better with the next batch; chin up!

I was rearranging my panda cories tank this morning, and I had a little baby pop up; had no idea they'd even spawned!!

The last one is still in the breeder box buzzing. Should have thought of covering the whole box with sand earlier but never thought the clowns can get them through the tiny holes. Although the babies were tiny
The tank is still cycling. It doesn't look good so far, slowest I've ever had, stupid sponge filter.

Oh, never thought of that

Just one question since you are around. When you move the adults to a breeder tank to make them spawn, do you just fill the new tank with water from the old one or do you acclimate them to the new tank. I just don't want to stress the adults but I want to try them to breed in that tank once it's cycled.

To make it easier for you and the corys , half fill it with their original tank water, pop them in then add fresh dechlorinated water, this saves the stress on the corys without having for you to acclimatise them...they just think its a waterchange

Thanks. I'll try as soon as I am sure the tank is safely cycled. I've got 3 pygmys that I want to try although I am not sure what sex they are and I haven't noticed them spawn but with the platies making a dinner out of 3 grown up shrimp you can't even know. I would love to up their number to 10-12 if I am lucky to have a male and a female.

The one survivor baby is still in the box growing.
The new cory tank is still cycling but is going good now, cleared ammonia and nitrites in about a day and a half.
And the good news is I've got more eggs

I swear 100% I saw the albino mama and laser cory dad in a T-position twice. Probably it will result in mostly infertile eggs again but they are definately trying to interbreed.
