I've just come back from the LFS and bought a Nutrafin CO2 Natural Plant System :D

It looks realy god and it came with some nutrafin liquid fertilizer and 6 fertilizer sticks to push into the gravel.

I'm going to have a go at setting it up later tonight. The man there was realy helpful, he said I could consider setting an airpump on a time switch to come on over night while the lights are off so that there wasnt a build up of carbonic acid to lower my pH too much - but its up to me.

What do you think?

Simon.

Personally I don't have the need to aerate the water over night as the pH swing isn't too big.

Test your pH just before lights on and just after lights off. If the difference is more than about 1 then aeration may be helpful. My guess would be that you won't need to as the Nutrafin systems don't generate that much CO2.

thanks i will. ive finnished putting it in - its behind a load of vallis - will it be ok there? theres no area in my tank where it cant be surrounded by plants - but it will still get all over the tank wont it?

oh great thanks.

i cant wait for the bubbles! says you can tell results in 15 days so ill post a before and after pic then :D

Don't forget that the diffuser (ladder) may tank a few days to become coated enough for the bubbles to run up smoothly - you may have no trouble but just in case.
