New Cichlid Tank

I want to start another tank for suth american cichlids. Maybe some rams, or cockatoos, what other fish can I put with them? Can I put them together?

In that case I wouldn't put more than one pair of rams (or equivalents) with a few tetras (say 8) and a few small corys (say 6)

Plenty of plants and several rock with a few caves
