New Camera So Got A Better Pic Of The Unknown Fish.

I did think it was to start with but its to dark compared to my juvie lombardoi that i have in there plus all the pics ive seen of kenyi dont have a stripe through the dorsal fin.

Maybe a cross-breed, the stripe in the dorsal fin is like a socolofi but the body shape is completely wrong, almost Aulonocara-like.

it looks like a elongatus blue, I have some and thats what they look like.

Hi Brewyn,

I'd agree with you except for the body shape, Elongatus are more torpedo shaped like the Demasoni in my Avatar, check out the head shape in particular, just like an Aulonocara. Can you just compare that to yours, could be a species of Elongatus i'm not aware of and i'd be interested to know now. :)

hello ferris. I dont know budd, it could be a hybrid of some sort but as far as the colours and markings go it closely resembles the elongatus. heres a photo, have a look and see what you think.

Now thats definately an Elongatus (and a beauty) with the body shape i'd expect but mark's is completely different, unless it is a hybrid, i'm stumped. :(

If you think thats a beauty, you want to see the elongatus mpanga I have, stunning mate, wild caught and there showing interest. :good:

nope, i can't see any teeth that'd be he giveaway sign of an afra.
good try though, i'm beginning to think its unidentifiable, but i'm still going with female lombardoi at the moment!!

I didn't know they had teeth! then again, I foregot that I have 4 of them in my tank. problem with getting soooo mannnyyyyy baby cichlids is that you can lose track of what is what, especialy when they can look alike.

It's definately not a C.Afra, female Lomardoi is definately a possibility, its that or a hybrid for me.
