New Boy

i did get another one, in a similar situation as bear. his water was blue and i couldn't tell what color he was and it was dirty, but the cup was nearly empty. yes he is in bear's old tank, but its scrubbed out thoroughly.

yeah, sorry you really can't see him in the pictures. he was full of himself, probably having more than an inch or so of water made him happy.

Why is the water blue?

i have no idea, i know i saw it somewhere but i don't remember either.

jaded- that's bears old tank (holds over a gallon), the one i was going to upgrade but i didn't get to before he died so i'm still planning on upgrading him
my other long tank is being used as a tank for slider since he came down with fin rot, it's easier to use than the one he was in before.

thanks guys i had no idea he was going to be that lovely, i've never seen one with those colors.

edit: he still needs a name. two of my friends wanted to name him and i didn't like what the one came up with and i havent seen what the other has. what do you guys have for him?

all last night he had this mean scowl on his face and when i woke up this morning he was doing a little wiggle dance for his food

i'm looking at musical names since i'm a band geek and (all my females have musical names) i wanted this boy to have a musical name since i'm basically in love with his colors

Try naming him after a composer since composers tended to be guys. How about Beethoven? Maybe Mozart?

Gads, I know I've said it already, but he's SO PRETTY! Every time I look at that pic it's like "ahhhhhhh".
Sorry. I meant to post again to say that I think the water was probably blue from a medication called Mythelene Blue. It's a treatment/preventative for fungus and infections. I've read that some pet stores medicate their bettas with it to ensure they have a longer "shelf life".

As far as names... what about... Hmmm... It depends on what kind of music you like. He's got sort of "psychedelic" colors, so maybe you should go with something like Hendrix (Jimi Hendrix), or something from that era. Or good old Lennon, or something of that nature.

i mainly listen to country and (yes) classical and jazz. i like mainly instrumental things
i may just have to name him mozart...hahaha

edit: i'm a trumpet/clarinet player and i love band jokes. they make me laugh. my band director even calls me a band geek i'm in the band room three times a day at the very least. this is off the topic but here are my favorite band jokes:
