New Boy Scared!

My latest betta, had him a week, flares at me and a mirror. Yesterday I cleaned out one of my oldest,a big red veiltail. So I put him next to thenew one and they flared away for about 5 minutes. I looked at my new one later and he was hiding in his terracotta cave. He came out when he saw me but then hid again. Ok today..think he was scared Mind you, Old Red is pretty impressive when he gets going.

My new boy, tentatively named Logan Dante, was quite cautious when I first got him as well. In Wal*Mart, he'd been kept with a bunch of flame tetras right next to another tank with a male betta in it, and I think he was intimidated a lot by the other betta. Poor guys.

Try to condition the new boy and put him in a dark quiet place then after few days or so, let him see the red VT.
