New Betta

Hi all

Ive only had my first Betta for 2 days.

Im abit concerned that it does not seems to be feeding. I currently feed my guppies and zebra danios standard tropical flake food. The only other fish is a salfin pleco, which eats plecomin.

Im going to buy some daphnia tomorrow to give that a try.

Anyone have any other thoughts ??

did you get betta pellets for your betta?
that is generally what they eat at pet stores, and at their permanent home too. its nutritionally balanced so you can feed them that every day
and daphia can be a treat once in a while too

My Bettas like flakes. Sure, it makes more mess; but some pellets are too big for the little tiny Betta's mouth, and then you have to crush them; and, wells, let's just say, that there was, like, a LOTTTTTS of messes. DX

Bettas dont eat standard tropical fish food, (well mine dont anyway)

Although live food is good, it should be feed like a treat, say 1 or 2 times a week.

Try Atisons pellets, or Hikari Betta Bio Gold (my bettas love this) around 6 pellets a day, throught the day. Available from Ebay aswell.

Hikari pellets also help there fins, they appear more brighter and nicer.



Also fast it and feed it a de-shelled pea once a week, this will help its digestion!
