Hey, Its been a long while since i posted on here, but i was browsing ebay tonight and i decided to get anouther better. I have a spare bowl etc... the same as my betta lives in now.

So here the link, tell me what you think.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=180335197650

Also, name idea's would be great. Still havnt named my first one haha! And i got him about the time i joined this fourm if any of you can look and see how long ago that was :p

Also, my plan is to buy a bigger tank and split it down the middle and have half for each betta. Any one know what sort of size tank i should go for.

I mean for the fish, bigger the better, but praticality. I want it as small as i can get it, the reason being, if its a big job to clean, it wont get done as often as it should. Somthing small and easy i can do weekly. Secondly, space is an ssue, i like to have the betta downstairs in the living room, so they can be shown off to all. But seeing as its my mum's house i dont think she would appreciate me coming home with a whoping great big tank, and theres also the money issue, i am a student after all.

Hi

Nice colours :good: Tank wise, get the biggest you can afford :good: 10 gallon? Keep an eye on the bettas caudal fin when you get him. Bit difficult to see on the piccie, but it looks like the ray extensions are uneven and slightly thinner in places. This could indicate a previous problem i.e. fin rot. biting, other damage etc. Keep the water clean and he'll look even better in no time.

"caudal fin"

Had a betta now for 7 mounths, and im sorry to say im still a compleate NOOB lol, what fin is it?

10G seems quite big? Im going off pictures on goole thought lol. Like i said, i want really, the smallest i could get away with. To stop the mother complaing. The bowl i have atm sits on the fireplace. Its not tiny, verygourous to the tank he was in when i bought him, and he seems happy, there is constantly a bubble nest flouting about, he eats the pellets as soon as i drop them in his tank...

I just want to get the two into one tank. also at the moment, he doesnt have a heater, he lives at room temp. I did buy a heater, but because of the bowl, it wont fit in. Again anouther reason i want to get a proper tank...

Just for referance, what size tank would that be, in G or L or whatever.

Also, take a look at the blue lobster in it, iv never seen anything like it, its awsome. Dont supose a fish could go in with him, the reply i got when i asked the question was if the lobster caught your fish it would eat it. lol

The caudal fin is the one right at the back :good:

How about something like this -

an Aquastart 320 (6gallons)

Or clearseal do a tank also 6 gallons, but its a longer tank rather than tall. 6 gallon is really the smallest i would advise :good:

Ref the tank on ebay, it looks ok minus the lobster lol. see if you can obtain the other dimensions :good:

Hi nps :good:

The Jewel tank is great, 15 gallons :good: You could even add some pygmy cories or otos at that size, and gives you more to put plants and stuff in :good:

Modaz does some good dividers mail order :good: Put the heater vertically next to the divider and the filter the other side of the divider and it assists water circulation too.

Well iv just found a tape measure and realised how terrible i am at judging distances lol. My version of 60cm must of been doubled when i actually measured it out lol!

that tank is fairly big, probally abit too big for downstairs tbh.

I think for £35, it's worth getting. Just i messaged them and asked if they would take £20. So i wont buy it for a day or so.

Im struggaling to find somwhere that it will fit now though :l haha. Hmmm

If you dont mind helping me search for a tank. I wouldnt mind spending £30/40, not sure what that will get me.

Iv just bought 2kg of white pebels, and i have a heater.

With the fish, some more food, and a few flimsy plants i got iv spent £30 already tonight. So i want to keep costs low.

This is so out of the blue, i got bored, remember'ed i needed to order some more fish food. Here i am a few hours later with a new fish on the way looking at big tanks haha!

Dammmm, i hate bordem, always results in me spending money!! lol

Hmmm, if you cant go that long, then you will have to compensate by getting a taller tank. Where are you based?

i live in runcorn. The lenght was ok. Ideally id like it to sit on the fireplace. It was a little too wide, would off been hanging off by probally 5-10 cm lol! Not too safe...

And i carnt really see anywher else for it to go, unless i got a stand, but its more exspence. Like i said if i can find a tank for 30/40 maxx with the dlivery, ill order somthing. Fish is coming thursday so if i could get it before then, great!

Hi

A few ideas - Clearseal do a tank that is 24"x12"x12", only comes with a hood (no light). Most lfs seem to do them at a reasonable price.

If you have a shop called "The Range" near you, they sell tanks cheaply.

Or check your local recycling centre, you'll be amazed at what some people throw out :good:
