Fish Crazy
Hello, I'm a new member here, and after years I have gotten fish again! I currently have Oliver the veiltail betta
. He's in my dorm in a 5gal filtered and heated Eclipse tank (Temp hovers around 78 degrees F) along with two Cory Catfish, Gesso the albino and Zinc the peppered cory. He is periwinkle with a dark red wash under his light, but I believe he is actually a royal blue with red wash judging by the photos with flash. He's got a great personality- loves to watch you and flares up at some random stuff when you hold them in front of his tank, like raisins.
He's not for breeding purposes, just a little college companion. Now for the pictures!
(Also wanted to add that the Petsmart I bought him from was AMAZING. The cups the Bettas were in were large, clean, and they had not just Veiltails, but Crowntails, and females. I was shocked. Though there were more "rare" colors (a gorgeous orange with white tip veil tail and some flashy crowntails, this guy charmed me with his personality, following me around in his cup. :3 It was so adorable!)
Oliver as he is seen under his life- periwinkle and red.
Hanging by the heater
Showing off a bit, but out of focus.
Clearest picture I have of him.

. Glad to see you are giving him a proper home. I wish i would have had a betta when i was in the dorms. Would have made it much less depressing
(I'm only kidding, dorms are a good time).
... Otocinclus Cats tho
Yeah, dorm room rules state any pets should be able to remain submerged for 30 minutes and not die.
(I'm pretty sure due to an illness/disease). But anyways, on a more cheerful note: welcome to the forum!
I had to run up and help them and give them dechlorinator and re-do the whole tank... the fish are ok right now, but I suspect the Molly may die, she's been acting weird.
