New Betta

I'm so excited, I've got a new betta, and he's not a VT. Previously I've only had pet shop VTs but this one is a butterfly HM (I think HM, not seen him at full flare yet so could be SD, but the seller said he was pretty sure he was HM).

I got him from Steve of sqbettas. I went there in person, and he had soooo many gorgeous bettas. It was so hard to choose. I was tempted by a white HM, also tempted by a black HM, but I had my heart set on a butterfly so I thought I should stick to that. When I had petshop VTs I was happy only having two, but seeing all those stunning fish (including some gorgeous dragon (I think) plakats) I now understand how people get addicted.

He's floating (in the bag) in the tank at the moment. Pictures will follow (*goes and looks for battery charger*)

thanks guys.. I'm very pleased with him. the rays in his anal fin are a bit crooked I noticed... but who wants a perfect betta... flaws add personality.

i bought a non-vt for the first time today, its the same type as that, its beautiful, its a crown tail, i was very suprised to see him in my lfs so bought him straight away

WOW he is gorgeus I got my first non VT betta today as well guess from who, sq bettas HM blue butterfly. He should arrive sometimes next week, so wish him safe arrival.

ooh, I saw a couple of blue HM butterflys whilst I was there. Did you buy it through ebay? if so I know which fish you're getting (he looked good, but then so did the other one)
