New Betta Rumour

had a guy come out to check out my cable today and he was asking me about bettas (as clearly, I have a few ). He said someone told him that if you put a betta in a tank with an air pump or a filter you can't put them in a bowl or a tank without one afterwards because they'll suffocate.

i don't know where anybody got THAT idea from . i set him straight though and explained the whole labyrinth organ deal. seriously... who comes up with this stuff?

i would just be very interested to have watched the progression of this particular idea. it's unlikely that that is the exact advise handed down to someone from a fish store employee. it's more likely it was misinterpreted and then passed down. it's like playing whisper down the lane. purple monkey dishwasher?

Yea a few years ago I might have believed that because I had like no idea about anything with bettas but now I think I would be able to tell whats fact and whats not, Lol it does look like the cat is shooting the laughing icon and its like the icon is rolling in pain.

What a coincidence! I have a male betta named Sebastian in a one gallon tank as well. He is blue and red on the fins and a touch of orange on his head. He seems to be enjoying life there.

my Sebastian lookalike is called Koi. Funny thing is everytime my lfs has bettas in there is now always one this colour....
