Hey,
So my friend bought a lovely little boy from petsmart  and named him Ramiro- only a month later did she dicide that she couldn't keep up with the water changes  and gave him to me. So far, he's been a nice, calm boy. She also gave me his tank and suplise which I really don't like and I was thinking of doing up a nice new tank.
Ramiro's Old tank and stuff
-2 gallon drum-shaped bowl
-neon pink and purple gravel
-1 fake amazon sword plant
-1 elite 25 w. heater

Plan of Ramiro's new tank

-5 gallon tank
-LED lighting
-Naturel coloured gravel
-live plants (cambomba? Java Moss? JAva Fern? hmmm...)
-Elite heater (thinking of keeping the old one, but night up-grade)
-1 Elite Whisper filter ( herd this was a good one....)

So what do you guys think? I have one question though- I know that LED lighting is a must for sucsessfully growing live plants, but will the light stress Ramiro- Betta's don't really like light, right?

Well any advice would be awsome :good:

i think anythings an improvement

my mr B loved swimming between the cabomba and hornwort, as well as mooching about on the bottom by the smaller java fern etc, as well as a couple of resting places ( a rock/plant pot/coconut shell upturned were in mine - he slept in the shell)

they supposedly dont like strong currents, but mine loved going through my filter current!!

dont know about the led lighting, i just had a standard tropical bulb with a low/medium wattage, and although the plants arent growing as quickly as in my other tank where theres medium/high lighting, they do still grow!
