New Betta Owner

I just got my first betta saturday. He's in a 2.5g tank. I picked up some aquarium salt today and was wondering when I should add it?

Even though he is in the water? Just add the salt to it? I'm just worried and don't want to hurt him.

just dont let the salt touch the fish, otherwise, it will get burned.

Ok thank you, just added the salt and made sure it didn't get on him or stuck on anything he likes to rest on.

i usually dissolve the salt in a small container with some water first and then add it

I was also wondering when changing the water and cleaning the tank should I do a full water change or a percentage water change?
