I just added my new betta fish to my 5-gallon tank, and he seems aggressive towards my 2 mystery snails. He poked one around a bit, explored the tank more, and chopped a bit of the antenna of my other snail :( Should I move my snails, or will he chill out and get along with my snails?

move the snails for both of there sakes. i had a similer thing, i find some bettas are just too agressive to put anything in with them. my boy friday did the same thing to my snails and i moved them out. both seemed alot happier aboutt his. some bettas are ok with snails my boy storm just flares at them and will some time tail whip them but has never bitten them. it seems just your luck that your betta doesn't want to share his new home.

good luck on both.

my bettas got along fine with snails, my sisters bettas ripped the snails of the shells and ate them. if your betta is already actualy biting and not just flairing I owuld remove the snail or the betta to a new home for everybodys safety.

You could probably put a Nerite in with him, as they don't leave bits sticking out to be nibbled or bitten off, as long as you don't mind the infertile eggs they tend to deposit around the tank.
Personally, I think the trade off's worthwhile, but some others don't.
The big thing is that you then have a very attractive algae-eater which the betta can't get at to harm, although if they ever do fall on their backs, they can't turn over by themselves and will have to be picked up and placed right side up, so that's something rather important to watch out for.
It would be horrible for a snail to be living in a place where bits could be bitten off any time...

My betta is a serial snail killer. He killed his apple snail 'friend', and also starts attacking the MTS in his tank (but only when they get above a certain size). At first I hoped he would calm down with age, but I seriously think he would try and kill the cat if he could just get through the glass!

If your betta is already biting the antennae etc I wouldn't risk it. I kept hoping Mr Fantastic would calm down - nope. Just got worse and worse...

yea i realy would move the snails, i kep thinking i was killing the snails,, nope even my females hunted tyhem down and once they got a hold of an antenna, they all ganged up on onece and riped it outa it shell and ate it, i tryed to fish it out but it wouldnt go back in its shell and it died....some bettas are like that and others are very calm, you might just have a uppitdy betta like mine!
