I am thinking on getting a new to me ang bigger aquarium i dont know if i should have posted this here or some where else. so if it gets moved i dont mind. my first instincts is go as big as my budget can afford which is in the 90 to 120 gallon range. right now i have two ten gallons and one 25 gallon aquarium. my friend is telling me he thinks i should just jump up to maybe a 50 gallon see if i can handle that. well i have tons of room so size is not going to matter for that. as well as the flooring is good as well. so what i am looking for is should i go with my friends suggestion and than down the road again want a bigger aquarium. or just for the gusto now what my long term plan is to go bigger and get cichlids. any help or suggestion i would appreciate

get the biggest tank u can get, much better, easier to look after, just bigger water changes etc.

malawis are very interesting and good to have, as u can have loads of them as they need to be kept in big groups due to aggression, look very nice, interesting to breed. :good:

are malawis very hard to take care of. im going to look into them now for the heck of it. and thanks for suggestions

no fairly easy to look after as long as u have good water cn ditions and keep them in numbers. and a ph of 7.8-8.2

Go for the biggest...You'll save yourself a lot of in between tanks!

I have been looking into cichlids for the last week and the malawis were the ones i had perfered. by the looks of them. this is not going to be a buy a aquarium tomorrow situation for me. i want to buy furniture first so it maybe a summer time thing but want to do as much research as i can now and know exactly what i want and need to do.

They can be as hard as you make them. Just be sure to not make beginner mistakes buy impulse purchases and not researching enough. I'd stay away from auratus, kenyi (lombardoi), demasoni (unless you're going to build the tank around this species) due to their extremely aggressive nature. Any questions, just ask :D
