Hi everybody. This is a great site with lots of knowlegable people.

I haven't had fish in a long time but have finally gotten back into it. Amazing how much better the equipment and information is! Nobody hardly ever talked about nitrites and ammonium back then. I grew up in Thailand, so kind of specialise in fish in that area. We had a pond (klong) in our yard with many of the creatures I see in the pet stores these days. I remember especially the gouramis and other anabatids as well as the bettas. I hope I can learn quickly but its nice knowing you are all here helping each other.

Where are you situated now?

Well, bettas and gouramis definitely are plentiful in most places, so everytime you walk into a petstore (if you don't decide to keep them), you're no doubt reminded of home. Of course, you could keep them and be perpetually reminded of home, and you get the added bonus of being able to view these fish from the side, not form the top.
