I'm not one for superstitions and won't wear a dried fish necktie. But superstitions in other cultures always look stupid, while superstitions in our own look normal. I once read a book on the Asian arowanna trade, and it was a big money business with fish selling for tens of thousands and extensive poaching of shrinking wild stocks. Captive bred Asian arowannas are micro-chipped. Unchipped ones are illegal for sale.

South American arowanna don't develop the golden colour, so they just bring you grey hair.
