hi all

question for you all, for about 5 years i had 2 angel fish living happly together untill one
morning i found one dead for unknown reasons. A few weeks past and the last angel seemed well deprest and sad so today i went out and got it a friend, its been in the tank for 4 hours and now all of a sudden at on end of the tank both are locking mouths and pushing one another, doesnt seem agressiive, like kissing.

so what are they doing is this fighting?????

any info would be great

If they do that, then seem to stay near each other between rounds, it's probably pairing behavior. If they go to separate areas of the tanks between rounds, it's probably just aggression.

ok this is happerning now with my blue rams and they are staying close together fighting and then locking lips thy hve been fighting for 4 days now but today i just noticed this locking lip action !

when thy are fighting tho thy arnt hurting each other, he seems to herd her around its realli odd behaviour ??

This is not odd, it's what chichlids do. They are testing each other out, it can between two males fighting, or when the female tests the male to see if he's a suitable partner. As long as no damage is done to the fish they will be fine. If however they do it all day long and show no signs of stopping then I would seperate the angels, you'll have more luck with a group if you have the space.

I see my tigerbarbs do this every once and a while...Their colours darken n dey lock lips and circle each other...Its the male barbs doing this so i suspect its not a courtchip dance...Its more of a territorial and hierachy thing.
