Question.
In a All pond solutions 1000LH external filter,in what order should the medium baskets be installed, I have got three floss filters, a bag of ceramic rings, a bag of carbon granules, and a hand full of bio balls, and three trays, hoping that I should not need the carbon at the moment, and I'm going to put the medium from my internal filter in with the new medium, until the first clean is needed.
I have ordered a pack of course filters.

This mornings tests were Ph 7.8 Ammonia 0 nitrIte 3.3 nitrAte 90 temp 28
I did a 60% water change and added 2ml ammonia then re-tested ammonia 0.6 nitrIte 3.0

Interesting question. I have the 1400 and have put the ceramics in the bottom, the bioballs next and my old filter sponge in the top. I have deliberately kept the carbon out.
Whether this arrangement is correct I don't know. Hopefully someone with better knowledge/experience than ours can answer the question for us.

Regards

David

+1

I use the same arrangement, and also have filter floss at the very top.

AHA!!! I have the filter floss in each basket i.e. those round circular white things that fit in the bottom of each basket.
So is it better to have them in the top basket and if so how many?

BLACK DDOG - sorry to hijack your thread a tad, but hopefully this will help us both.

David
