The male krib sometimes get a pinky/red belly but then it goes away why is this?

hi, the kribs look great, but you could have gone for a few hundred mile drive to east yorkshire to take mine. ;) i've being trying to get rid of them for ages as they scare my corys. as said, the male will turn red when he is 'in the mood' and the female will develop a large red/purple belly as she gets full of eggs and is ready to spawn.

cheers :good:

How big a tank do they need? and are they ok in a communal tank? were in hull in east yorkshire but only have a 22 gallon tank

hi, i have 2 female that i'm trying to get rid of, so obviously, they won't spawn. they are fine in a community aquarium that size, as long as there are no other cichlids or corydoras catfish. a 22 gal tank is fine for them, my brother has 2 inn his 26 gal, which won't be much bigger. pm me if you are interested, as it would be unfair if i nick this thread lol. and what fish do you have in the tank? if you wanted to breed them, you could buy a male from a shop and have a trio.

cheers :good:

Nice kribs! Normally when the male gets pink, it means he is 'in the mood'.

Cool i'll need to keep an eye on them then, Do they do any displays or try to show off to each other?

yes, the female goes up to the male, and bends into a crescent shape and starts shivering/vibrating, and trying to coax the male into a cave.

cheers :good:

I've seen her do that but he doesn't seem intrested but when hes all pinky red she's not intrested in him. They must be playing hard to get
