I haven't posted any pictures on here for ages, so I thought since I've got some new fish this week, that I'd put some pics up. I've added 3 pictus cats, and 5 odessa barbs to my 20g, and yes I know the pictus will get too big, but they are too small to go into my big tank at the moment!! :p :p

Odessa Barbs. The first picture is only for colour reference as they are hard to photo without the flash reflecting off them and sapping away their colour, but they are really bright little fish!

LOL The first day I got mine, they went absolutely mental, and were trying to swim out of the tank by just swimming into the glass all the time. They managed to dig a big crater in the sand just by the movement of their tails!!
They've calmed down now, but they still have the odd mad half hour every now and then!!

nice pics but a tip for you. take the pics at night with only the tank light on, room lights off. turn the flash off any you'll get better colour definition.

Thats how I normally do it, but I just took them during the day. Only problem I have with not using the flash is the shutter speed has to be that much slower and you end up more prone to blurry pictures. I open up the aperture as far as it will go so I can have the shutter as fast as possible, but without the flash, it still blurs with faster fish!!

Very cool.
I love the first one

wow. i can never get pics of my pictus's. they move too fast. i dont think it was a good idea to put the pictus's in a 20 gallon unless absolutely necessary. they are a pain to move because of their spines

Over the last couple of months, I have become very adept at moving catfish without nets, as I've had to move 1 lima shovelnose, 5 Zebra Plecs, 2 bristlenose cats, and a Gibbiceps all without using a net so as not to damage and spines or other bits that may get caught in the net. The first time I moved my Lima, he got so badly caught in the net I spent an hour cutting him out of it with a pair of scissors. luckily he survived!! :D
