I just have a question I want to ask you all. I'm getting a 90g for a community tank next week, and I'm moving some of my fish into it. I'm definitely moving my larger Loaches in (Angelicus, Zebra, etc.) and some of my Cories in. Now, I have two possible options for the top/middle. I have an 8" Kissing Gourami that I have raised from a little one, who I would like to give a bigger tank. S/he is currently in a 40g breeder right now, and doing fine, but I'm sure more room is always appreciated. I also have a pair of Angelfish. I don't really want to risk putting those three together.

So....do you think it would be better to have one larger fish are the centerpiece, and then possibly a school of Tetras/Rasboras/Danios? Aggression is not an issue with my Kisser, s/he has been raised his/her whole life with other fish, and has not hurt a single one, even small Platy fry. I realize there is a possibility for aggression, but putting that aside....

OR

My Angels, possibly a larger Gourami, and just general, smallish community fish?

My concerns right now: Feeding. My Kisser eats from a feeding ring, because s/he can't get the food when it's just floating on the surface. The tank has to be cleaned very frequently though, and I'm not sure I want the sand my 90g to look dirty all the time. My other concern is decoration. I'd like to go lots of plants and wood, but it's hard to design it so there is room for her/him to move around. But I'd love to give him/her a bigger tank.

I'm really stuck right now, and would love your opinions! I know it's ultimately up to me, but they would still be greatly appreciated. Thanks! :D

Exactly what is your concern with putting the Gourami and the angels together? If feeding is a concern then why don't you simply use the feeding ring on the 90?

I just worry it might bring out the worst in both fish, as they both have the potential to be aggressive. Also the bio-load, when they are full-grown. I can't see them sharing too well, or looking that good together. But I could be wrong. -_-

For the feeding:
