I got this all set up today ready for my Betta, can't wait to get him home next week

Nice big tank! He's going to be super happy.

My only suggestion is to add a new more large plants at the back. It looks really good, though! I'm never patient when I scape - I guess have limited access to materials doesn't help.

Nice tank, good size but yes definitely LOTS more plants and it'll look really great and feel safe for him :good:

Great tank

I like what you've done with the rocks :good:

A few more plants will finish this tank off nicely :D

thanks, i plan to add cabomba, if thats the right name, at the back in front of heater, may also get moss balls, and java moss too, duckweed any good someone?

Is that the 48L fish box/pod? tis a great tank looks awesome and cabomba always seems to go down well with bettas lol

Duckweed is a floating pond plant. It will grow exceeding well in a normal tank, but it goes as a weed for a reason. You'll be heaving handfuls of the stuf out every couple of weeks and if not it'll completely cover the whole surface, and block off light to your other plants so I would say don't get it, as it can be a real nuisance.

A clump of Riccia (another floater) will grow a lot more slowly and is nowhere near so invasive.

The tank looks really good. I have the 48L fish pod, if that's what it is. My betta seems to like it, hope yours does too :)

That looks like a very nice tank, I don't think you need to go too crazy with plants as the fish will have a nice cave to hide in. It looks well so far.

Amazon frogbit is a good alternative to duckweed - similar looking except frogbit has larger leaves and isn't so crazy with the multiplying!

thankyou very much for all your advise. i bought elodea, and cabomba and an union (i think its an onion plant) here is an updated photo

That'll look good once everything fills out. Though I suspect you may have to keep trimming the onion plant (Crinium I believe the name is ) as they get REALLY long/tall. My brother has one, it's massive. So once the leaves start to really trail along the surface just trim them carefully with scissors (otherwise they'll block light ) . :good:

thanks honeythorn. i shall keep an eye on it. introduced pygmy corys today. I never realised how fab these little fish are, they are funny to watch and have such lively personalities. I didnt know they can jump out of water either. seriously thinking of having a cory tank one day
