Well we jsut recently purchased a 33 gal, but hte filter that it came with is broken[aquaclear for 50 gallon)(2nd hand stuff =/) how ever that filter is broken, but the media is in the 10 gals corner being cycled for about a week now, and i jsut started the cycle on the 30 gal, the fish goign in there are the ones describe in the 10 gallon below as well as 2 bala sharks that we got from someone else who had kept them in a 10 gal.
What else would you guys reccomend doing, and i cant increase the number of danios seeing as my dad doesnt quite like them so much.
he wants to get 2 clown loaches as he liesk them alot, what would be good alternatives to them?

10 gal
4 Zebra Danios
4 Guppies(2 male 2 female)
2 Angels

If that is indeed what you have in your 10 gallon tank,
you have WAY to much.
in your 33 gallon i would recommend doing the following:
2angels 10"
2clown loaches 24"
and that would be all the space you could have fish in there
since you have 33 inches of space, and you do the inch of fish to a gallon ratio
since the clown loaches grow to approx. 12 inches each two would take up 24 gallons of space
and two angels would take up 10 gallons up space since each grow to be 5" big
i hope you follow, and i'm not confusing you to badly.

then in your 10 gallon tank
i would recommend the following:
you already have 4 guppies
but i would buy another FEMALE guppy
since there needs to be a 2f to 1m ratio
since the males harasse the females to the point of death
if there aren't enough of them.
and i'm sorry, i have no clue what zebra danios requirements are.

Good luck, and do the changes when the 33 gallon tank is cycled! [not before]

all the fish in the 10 gal are basically gonna into the 33gal, which has started hte cycle with a aquaclear 50.
Zebra danios need t obe in a school of at least aroudn 5-6, so im going to get a few more after hte tank is cycled.
Im trying to convine my dad not to get clown loaches(im discouraged by the fact they get ich easily)
so i dont know whats a good fish instead of the clown loaches

Jus ttell him the truth, there is DEFINETLY not enough space for them!
Tell him they grow up to 12 inches big! and need to be in a much LARGER tank.
Because that is all very true! if he doesn't beleive you, show him on the internet

Silver Barracuda or asian gar. Fun fish to watch grow and are reletivly easy to maintain IMO.

yeah, ive told my dad many times, he says theyll take a good few years to grow, and he says by then a bigger tank will be present at our hoouse =/
i want to convince him that Clown loaches are too big atm and how they get can get ich easily, me id rather have a 33 gal stocked with
2 shoals of 6(2 different types of tetras that get ot 1.5 inches) and something along the lines of a few slightly larger fish (3-6 inches)
Oh this tank is going to be planted later on(heavily with Java moss and java fern), and will have some moonlight installed in the hood sometime.
Hte tank has no substrate , it has several larg rocks with somewhat of caves, nad i converted the bubble collumn in this plastic ppiece of wood trunk into a sponge filter(consipcuosly), so the bubble column is narrower then before

And thats why im going to attend an academic high school next year taking IB courses[sorry to go off topic]
see my dad is hunting down extension tbes for the ac filter right now to get suction for the bottom , but the bottom already has hte sponge filter in the corner, however even without the bacteria is still colonizing on the sponges, the only downside to this is that the sponges being employed arent filter sponges, rather cellulose which will eventually rot, but ill remove them in a week or 2 when i can manage ot snag some filter sponge.
Also i just discovred something the filter that came with the tank was a Aquaclear 300- for a 70 gallon, thats way over filtered, and still didnt do a sufficient job.
Oh and one otehr problem, i need to rehome this bloodfin tetra i rescued(from being a feeder xP) awhiles back, however i caught it fin nipping my betta recently(my betta is in a small .5 gallon bowl getting medicated by Bettafix) and however not to healthy though for it and im planning to rehome it, but i have fear of putting it in my 33 gal, dont wanna give it back to the lfs where itll end up as a feeder again. My problem is getting it a nice tank, i was wondering with it i could send it in , and maybe it could try and stick with the danios? Like ith my friends 200 gallon tank(nothign but guppies) he has a school of neons in there(10) and last time i saw some of hte smaller guppies were schooling with them constantly of hte the 1 hour i sat there talking to my friend and making fun of his hard french immersion courses
