Hey,

Here's my new tank. It's 21 gallons with a mix of live and plastic plants. The heater, filter, aerator and light have been going since Monday when I filled it. I've put a bit of flake food in since and dechlorinated the water when I put it into tank.
I'm going to wait for 2 weeks (I'll turn the light off at night etc of course!)
Am I cycling this right? I've actually forgotten how I cycled my 15gal!

Here it is after 4 days (tonight). I know he'll grow too big but the first fish I move in is my Sailfin Pleco from my 15gal (3/4 inches)
I KNOW he was too big to be kept in the 15gal, and will soon begin to outgrow the 21gal, but when he does get too big I'll sadly have to find a new home for him.

Any other suggestions for stocking it? I was thinking a few Blue Neon Rainbows and a small Discus?

Regards, Alex

Have you read about cycling in the beginners section? I would recommend putting some mature media in your filter and fishless cycling it.

Also, discus are much to small for that tank, even one. You need 55G+

Neon tetras, rummynose tetras, silver tipped tetras, stuff that school together look really nice IMO.

Or maybe WCM or danios, cories.

I would go for
A trio of apisto (1male 2females)
1 small plec like a bristlenose or a shoal of 6 corys
6 small shoaling fish like tetra, rasbora
6 hatchets
that looks goo to me aslong ans you have good filtration.
