New 180 Litre Hex

Here are two pictures of my new 180 Litre custom made Seabray tank. I finally managed to move it into position this weekend and got the tank filled, filter running and water up to temperature.

I have decided to start out with plastic/silk plants as I felt live plant maintenance maybe be difficult due to the depth of the tank. I was also keen to not clutter the tank too much. I want to make sure that the fish ( ....when I get them ) are the focal point of the tank.

If anyone has any stocking ideas or any feedback on the tank setup, please feel free to post them !!!!!

Nice tank this is that very expensive one isn't it ??

I think Angels will go very well in the height of this tank. And perhaps some hatchet fish for the top level ?

Though saying that, I'm not sure if Angels and hatchets mix well ?

Maintenence and gravel vac is going to be a bit of a pain (in the back!) though ..... lol

Interesting choice in tank shape. You can't go wrong with a classic mix of community fish to fill all water height levels. This would fit in with your "fish are the focal point" concept.

I hope you have some step ladders, a deep reach algae scraper and gravel cleaner!

I second the idea Some corys at the bottom, tetras at the mid-level, and danios for the top maybe ?

I don't think the tank is large/long enough for danio's....

Yeah I got the step ladder, algea scraper and long gravel cleaner. Also found some neat long reach tongs which really came in handy for setting it up. I've also managed to rig up a couple of woodern blocks that can be placed on the top to raise the lid. I can then use the lids surface to stand my bucket full of fresh water on to cyphon in !!!!!

I think it was about 100cm ( 1m ) deep.

cool tank but bear in mind the surface area of the tank has been reduced.
get some airstones in the tank if you havent already.
remeber less surface area = less fish
