*I hope this is in the right area! Please move if I haven't posted it right!*
I've just purchased a used 125G and stand. I'm in the process of scrubbing out every nook and cranny...
After about a month of researching large tanks, I think we've finally decided on the following setup:
Quikrete medium/silica pool filter sand
assorted (and plentiful!) rock caves/hideouts
assorted artificial plants
fish:
Angelfish
Bala Sharks
Clown Loaches
(I don't plan on cycling the tank with any of these fish; I'll be using a borrowed filter from the wonderful people at my LFS, and a school of something extra hardy.)
-Now, when I do get to the point of adding, how many of each will be proper? I know they all are schooling fish, so would one species have to go in order to make room for another?
-As for filtration, the tank came with a fairly large filter; its previous owner successfully kept a pair of Arowanas for almost two years, so I would imagine it works just fine. However, with such an upgrade in the amount of waste it would be processing, should I get another? I obviously can't use an undergravel, as I've got 100lb of sand here waiting to be dumped in
-And as for temperature, what is an agreeable range? Also, It didn't come with a heater... what wattage should I look for, and will one suffice?
