First of all sorry I know these stocking threads are really boring!

I recently bought a 100l tank, Depth- 36cm, Length- 60cm, Height- 51cm (see here http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?showtopic=293535) and have a few ideas for stocking but I would like some input.

At the moment I have a 17 litre betta tank with 3 amano shrimp and a bamboo shrimp in (I know the bamboo shrimp shouldn't be in a tank that small, stupidly I didnt research before I bought it.) however the betta bullies the shrimp so I never see them, I'd like to put them in the bigger tank.

Apart from the shrimp in the 100 litre I would like:

Angelfish (I've read many different things about how many you should keep together so Id like some input on that)
Shoal of neon tetras (how many?)
Shoal of corys (how many?)
Khuli loach (how many?)

Thanks for your help.

Angels would eat neons, so you cant have those together, in fact they may well eat the shrimp too, although possibly not the bamboo.

You could have 1 Angel, group of corydoras, kulli loaches and a shoal of larger tetras.

Instead of the angel, you could have a keyhole. You could house the neons with the keyhole

um i wouldn't realy wana put angels in a 100 litre imo angels dont need more space but 100 litre is not realy big enough

khulis ... you could have about 5

cories... it depends you could have 10 + pygmies but if you going with a normal sized one you could have about 6

So it is or isn't big enough then? Bearing in mind the dimensions of the tank, its quite tall.

What would you people suggest for a 'main' fish then? I would quite like a dwarf gourami maybe? But in th past I've kept large gourami's in a 6ft planted tank and they uprooted all the plants to build a nest!

Angelfish will be fine in that tank, but you should only have one (or a breeding pair), though I personally would only go for one unless you plan to breed them. It'd be fine whilever they were 'paired up', but if the fell out then there wouldn't be enough room to sustain two seperate territories.

Also as Minx said, neons are a no go with angels, you'll need a larger bodied tetra such as serpae or bleeding heart tetra.

Other than that your stocking sounds good, I think you'd be best getting either corys or kuhlis though.
Example stocking being:
1 Angel
6 Serpae tetra
6 Corys or 6 Kuhlis

Right I've decided to scrap the angel idea and go with a dwarf gourami instead, as I'd like to be able to see my shrimp and not have them hidden away all the time! By the way why did you say corys OR khulis Curiosity? I've kept both together fine before, and with the dimensions of the tank the bottom area is quite large.

So,

Stocking list:

1 bamboo shrimp
3 amano shrimp
1 dwarf gourami
6 khuli loaches
8? pygmy corys
?? neon tetras

Sorry to do this but bump. Really want to get the numbers sorted, can anyone help please?

25 gallons is too small for a bamboo shrimp anyway return him. You also need to directly feed him with crushed flake or fry food using a pippette when his fans are extended in the water column. 3 amano shrimp is a small colony you won't see them very often 15 would be a better amount. Why not get normal sized corys instead of pygmy's?

Yes I thought the tank may still be too small for him, I'm not going to return him though, the store I bought him from didn't even know how to feed them, and when I went back there last week 2 were dead. I have a friend who owns a large peaceful community tank, I'll ask if he wants him. Oh and I do know how to feed it, but thanks anyway.
I chose pygmy cories simply because they're cute! Why, would there be any reason why I should get larger ones instead?
Could someone please say how many neons I could get because I'm not sure.

You could have about 8 neons and increase the number of amano shrimp, i think you should go for the pygmy cories and a dwarf gourami.

The only reason to have cories over the pygmy is the wider variety of colourations and trypes but if you prefer the pygmys each to their own, normally people choose pygmys due to lack of space which you don't have an issue with.

Depends on your filtration tetras need very steady water quality.
