New 10 gal tank

Finally got my new 10 gal tank cycled and ready to accept fish. I'm not a total fish newbie, but most of my other experience with fish is bettas or simpler tropical fish like danios. I was wondering how many tiger barbs I could fit in the tank? Would 4 or 5 be pushing things too far? It is a heated/power filtered tank.

I am also considering maybe 2 or 3 blue dwarf gourami's as well

I personally would not put tiger barbs in that tank. They are extremely active fish and like a lot of space to zip around. Is there any reason you're set on tiger barbs? Maybe we could think of a similar fish that would be better for your tank size?

5 tigers would be fine IMO, if that is all in the tank

Well I've just always been kinda partial to tiger barbs and have always thought them to be very interesting and beautiful looking fish.
