Net Breeders

You must wait till the female guppy shows signs of giving birth on that day. These signs may include:

1. Staying near the heater
2. Hiding or looking for a quiet stop around the tank
3. Not eating
4. Stressed out

i have learned that if you put a pregnant fish in a breeding net, that it usually stresses out the fish. i have tried to use the breeding net twice and have been unsuccessful both times. when i let them out, within about 5-10 minutes there were fry in my tank. i then scooped them out and put them in the breeding net, i currently have 17 mollie fry. the fry when they are born will look for a place to hide, in the gravel or plants.

I have the best luck if i put her in the breeding net about a week before hand. But like mentioned by shadow this reaally stresses some fish out and they abort their fry. So although its more trouble i usually net the fry out of the tank if i can or set up a small breeding tank and move the pregnant fish over at any point in time. HTH :)
